Looking At The Benefits Of Stress Relief Through Massage

The modern lifestyle for most average people today is hurried and stressful. Most families are in a routine of stressful events that becomes a way of life. However, too much pressure for too long can cause multiple health problems. Headaches, heart attacks, stroke, and even some immune related diseases are caused and made worse by stress.

Think about how great it feels to have the muscles in your back massaged. This is true even when you have no injury to muscles. However, for those times you do have sore aching muscles from overdoing it, you are experiencing a form of stress. When your body is fighting inflammation and pain, you might be surprised at the level of pressure it is under while doing so.

Many diseases that are caused primarily from you being under too much strain for too long can be completely avoided by learning how to handle it. Consider the number of people in hospitals suffering from heart attacks and stroke. Many of these same sufferers might have thwarted these attacks by simply taking time to relax.

Learning to relax can be hard, especially when you may be the one working to support your family or you are the one caring for someone sick,. Several situations can cause a great deal of pressure on one person. While many people are tough and have a great will to keep going on no matter what, they end up succumbing to pressures. Visiting a masseuse on a regular basis can allow you the time you need to learn how to truly relax.

Regular visits for muscle massaging can help to strengthen your immunity. This is a great reason many hospitals and clinics are incorporating this natural technique in their recovery routines. Research has shown how much faster people heal when massaging is a part of their healing process.

Massaging muscles can allow them to better expel metabolic waste. This is certainly a plus when you consider the number of external toxins you might be exposed to every day. Massaging also helps to promote the dispersion of vital nutrients in soft tissue. This is especially helpful in the cases of injured muscle tissue that requires a higher level of nutrients for healing.

Learn more about how you can relax and reap the benefits of massage for stress by visiting a professional masseuse. Making sure you take out time for yourself is important and necessary for you to maintain excellent health.

Hot Stone Massage, It Is Warm and Relaxing

Hot stone massage is a popular type of massage therapy that uses smooth, flat stones that are heated for the purpose of healing the body quickly on its key point areas.

These heated stones used on this type of massage therapy are usually basalt which retains heat longer than most ordinary stones. They are usually heated on boiling water at a temperature of about 124° Fahrenheit before they are actually used on the patient's body.

During the massage therapy session, the massage therapist takes each stones that are ready for deployment on the key points of the patient's body. Most of these stones are placed on the patient's back while the others are set on the different areas of the body including between the toes.

One of the benefits we get from this type of massage is that our muscles are relaxed when these heated stones are placed on our body's key points. Warmth is used to relax tight muscles and removes the tension which causes different types of muscle problems on our body. The warmth of these special stones will make the massage process on the deep tissue of the patient's body more effective and much easier for the massage therapist. The massage therapist will then hold the hot stones on his hands while working on the different parts of the patient's body. He or she will also immediately replace these hot, smooth stones in case they become cold in temperature.

The massage therapist prepares and warms up the patient's body by working on the different areas of the body with Swedish massage. This is done in order for your body to fully accept the benefits of the hot stone massage.

The massage therapist will then take some heated stones and arrange them on the different areas of your back for a while for your body to relax and release tension as well as body toxins. The hot stones are regularly replaced from time to time as their temperature drops down. However, there are exemptions where cold stones are used. In case the patient has inflammation or injury, hot stones are replaced with cold stones to make the inflammation subside. This is uncommon though on massage therapy sessions.

Aside from the use of hot stones, the massage therapist will also use light oil or lotion on the patient's body so that he or she can maneuver the massage strokes much better all over the body. Oil and lotion reduces the friction and acts as a lubricant on the patient's body for a smooth massage stroke manipulation for the masseuse.

Most patients who have experienced this type of massage therapy share their joy of getting a relaxing and energizing massage therapy session. A significant muscle relaxation is evident right after a hot stone massage. It is also known as an effective therapy on relieving stress, and body pain. This therapeutic massage also calms down the psyche of the patient which results in the relief of mental stress. Body toxins are also removed from the patient's body after a good massage therapy session.

Health and Fitness - Four Reasons To Consider Adding Massage Therapy to Your Health Care Plan

When it comes to taking care of your health, you have the basics down...

  • proper exercise,
  • good nutrition, and
  • possibly some daily stretching to reduce soreness and keep up your range of motion.

But, have you considered the benefits massage therapy can bring to your body? Many people completely overlook this treatment option either due to the cost involved or because they consider it a luxury and not something they should be indulging in. It is time to change this thinking. While you may not be able to afford a massage each week, treating yourself once a month can be a great way to pamper your body and do your health good. Plus, various health care plans do cover this type of treatment, so be sure to look into your care plan to see what coverage you have.

Here are five good reasons why you might want to consider having a regular massage...

1. Stress Reduction. Relaxing on the table while the massage therapist goes to work is one of the best ways to take some time out and slow down your busy world.

Do you realize there are different types of massage? There are those purely for stress reduction and relaxation, and then there are deep tissue massages designed to help sore, tense muscles. Choose the appropriate one given your goals.

2. Injury Prevention. Next, massage therapy can be ideal for injury prevention purposes. If you are experiencing muscle tension and knots in any area of your body, therapy can help to work those out and as a result, contribute to reducing the occurrence of injuries down the road.

Remember, a small tight muscle today is one likely to become problematic later if not taken care of. Slowly this tightness can build and scar tissue may even form which will then lead to a lack of motion range.

3. Greater Mobility. Speaking of a range of motion, this is something else you will want to think about. Massage can help to boost flexibility by bringing more blood into the tissue area, reducing stiffness and helping you loosen up surrounding tissues.

If you feel tense and sore, this could impact your physical performance. Massage therapy can get you back on track so you can engage in the activities you enjoy.

4. Enhanced Sleep Quality. Finally, let us not forget about the sleep benefits from massage therapy. Go for one massage and you will see how deeply you sleep through that night. Since sleep is critical for optimal health, this again is a benefit to consider.

If you are a poor sleeper, a relaxation massage scheduled late into the evening may just help you find relief.

Keep these points in mind and consider booking a massage today. It really can help you feel better and become healthier overall.
