One of the practices I’m deeply drawn to is Forest Bathing, an ancient way of connecting with nature. In Japan, it’s known as Shinrin-yoku, which simply means immersing yourself in the natural world using your senses.
Forest bathing doesn’t require travel or special training. It can happen in your own backyard, a nearby park, or during a quiet retreat. Here, we’re fortunate to have many peaceful places to slow down—lying in a hammock, sitting on an old log swing, and listening. Birds calling, squirrels moving through the trees, deer crunching acorns beneath their feet.
These moments of stillness are deeply calming and surprisingly healing. Each time I spend time this way, I notice a shift—I feel more grounded, more creative, and more at ease. Sometimes, the most powerful form of self-care is simply being present in nature.
