Something I’m especially excited about right now is my beautiful crop of organically grown Aloe Vera, grown right here on what I call Aloe Hill.
The story behind this garden makes it even more meaningful. About three or four years ago, a devastating fire swept through the hills of Vacaville, leaving behind blackened earth and a landscape that felt lifeless. This particular hillside was once covered in old oak leaf mulch, and after the fire, it held layers of ash—remnants of destruction, but also the potential for renewal.
To bring life back to the hill, we planted over 100 aloe plants, all separated from plants I already had. It was a labor of love and hope. Over time, something incredible happened. The soil, enriched by ash and organic matter, became the perfect environment for growth. Today, these are the happiest, healthiest aloe plants I’ve ever seen.
We’ll be using freshly picked aloe leaves from Aloe Hill for our skin care treatments. There’s something powerful about using ingredients that are grown with care and intention. And the best part? The ingredient list couldn’t be simpler: fresh aloe vera—nothing added.
From fire and ash came healing and nourishment. Aloe Hill is a reminder that even after devastation, something beautiful and restorative can grow.
